Rick's second, non-fiction book Courage, Sacrifice and Betrayal - The Story of the Victoria Rifles of Canada - 60th Battalion in WWI has been published by ECW Press in Canada and by Helion & Company in the UK. It is the story of Rick’s grandfather, Edward Lewis Pyves and his Battalion during World War I. Edward was decorated with the Military Medal “for the skillful manner in which he strengthened the British defence at Hill 60” in August 1916.
Rick’s third book, Sir John James Taylor De Facto Ruler of Ireland has just been published and is available on Amazon i as both an eBook and Trade book. It is the incredible story of Rick’s great-grand-uncle Sir John James Taylor, a commoner born in Umballa, India who joined the British Civil Service as a young teenager in 1877 and rose through the civil service ranks while in Ireland to a position of influence during the Anglo-Irish War of Independence.
